Started out running then slowed it to a massive brisk walk. Getting geared up for the 5k's coming up. Turkey Trot, Santa's Stroll, and possibly the Fido Run dash for da beads. IDK. It's still early. Always enjoy listening to my music while run/walking. Keeps me motivated.
Finished a quilt project for a special someone in my life. It turned out truly well. And, I used all the fabric that was around the house. So, was thrifty at the same time. I know they will truly appreciate it. Have been busy making Christmas Ornaments, and decorating the tree. It is done, and beautiful if I do say so myself.
Getting ready for Thanksgiving is such a task in itself. However, I did post a video for my sweet girl on how to bake a turkey my way.. :) was fabulous.
BTW, we still have TURKEY. .
I woke up one morning with a slight sore throat, that turned into a chest cold, then wham no voice, sicker than any old dog, and yapped at the doc for not signing off my physical. She was like. Uhm, NO you need to come back tomorrow and we will see. I said. pthhh. seriously.? She looked at me said seriously. I said fine. So, back next day. She listens then says, you need a chest xray. I said Oh just sign the form and let me go. Nope Kathryn, you are sick and I am not signing anything. I get the xray, she says you see that white spot right there. Yes. so. She says, drop your droors. I said, do what? She says, " I am giving you a shot of penicillin, you have Pneumonia. I said oh my gosh I do not. She said what do you think that white spot is? OH seriously? She says, " Yes, you need to rest." Then, it went from that to oh and here is another antibiotic, along with this cough medicine that will break up the stuff. Come back in a few days. Ok. So, low and behold zpack ineffective, switched to Zyvox. Am back almost 100%. Still get tired easily. But, have to say, 3 weeks of laying around has changed my figure. Sigh. I have packed on a whopping 14lbs. All that work, all that time, all that for nuthin. Other than I can DO IT AGAIN!. So, Back in the saddle I am. :) Has been quite the busy, freaking month to say the least. I thought I was almost over it, then wham. Relapse. I have discovered the true meaning of The Night Air. oh my gosh. Nothing made me cough more than that air.
On lighter notes; Enjoyed a full day out at the Burn Field in Henderson County. Was exhausting, and amazing all at the same time. Got a ton of time in the smoke, around the flames, and still smell it in my hair. hahahah.
Enjoy your time with your family. Remember to give thanks to God for everything. Remember to tell those around you how much you appreciate them, How much they mean to you, and How much you Love them daily.
Happy Thanksgiving peeps,
Webb

DIY Spice jars with Chalboard paint
Spice storage. It seems like a clutter problem for every household. There is an ever-growing, ever-rotating container of spices, always different amounts and different jars. And how on earth do you keep them organized so you can find the one spice you need without having to pull every other bottle out of the cabinet first?
Well, call me a braggart, but I think I’ve found a way!
Using some inexpensive hardware store supplies and two dozen mason jars, we’ll create chalkboard stickers that will make it easy for you to add new spices to your collection without disrupting your organization system. This will also ensure that no spray paint will contaminate the inside of your spice containers.
To tackle this spice storage project, you’ll need the following supplies:
- Rust-Oleum Chalkboard spray paint
- Pint sized mason jars, however many you need
- Contact paper
- 2-inch hole punch (found at a craft store)
- Drop cloth (not pictured)
- Painter’s tape (not pictured)
Begin by taping a bit of contact paper to a drop cloth. A 2- to 3-foot stretch of paper should be enough.
Then, lightly coat the contact paper in chalkboard paint. You’ll be applying several very lights coats to the paper to avoid drips, so don’t worry about getting the first coat perfectly even and opaque.
Continue to add layers of chalkboard paint, working in light even coats. You should be able to apply a new coat about every 30-45 minutes.
Once you have an even, opaque coat of chalkboard paint, let it dry fully.
Next, you’ll need to prepare your chalkboard surface for chalk. Coat your surface with chalk dust using a bit of chalk.
Next you’ll want to softly remove all of the chalk dust with a bit of paper towel. This will ensure that when you beginning writing on your chalkboard surface, nothing will leave a permanent mark. You’ll be able to write and erase easily this way.
Using a 2-inch hole punch, cut circles from your chalkboard contact paper. These 2-inch stickers will perfectly fit on the inside of the top of your mason jar!
I found it easiest to apply the sticker to the top of the mason jar first, then label the jar, before adding the spice to it. This way you won’t forget which spice is in which jar!
Now that your jars are labeled, you can begin transferring your spices from their original, mismatched jars into the neatly labeled mason jars. I used a piece of paper to create a funnel so my spices wouldn’t spill all over the counter.
Above, you can see how the chalkboard stickers fit perfectly onto the top of the mason jar. By creating stickers rather than spraying the jar itself, you keep the spray paint from contaminating the inside of the mason jar top.
You can also make extra stickers in case you decide to add to your collection. When you come home from the grocery, it’ll only take a few seconds to slap a label onto a fresh mason jar, write on it with a bit of chalk, and transfer your new spice into the jar!
We love an organization system that makes maintenance simple!
